Select Committee on Public School Accountability
Written by John Bucy
Wednesday, 09 April 2008 20:25
Thursday, March 27, members of ACE and other representatives from the Alliance of Charter Schools of Texas attended a hearing of the Select Committee on Public School Accountability. Several speakers from various schools and organizations commented on different ways in which Texas could reform current accountability measures in Texas' public school system. Among other topics discussed were the enacting of End of Course exams, the TEKS, and current growth models, specifically the well-received model of Dr. Michael Hinijosa, superintendent of Dallas ISD. ACE and the Alliance would love to hear from you on this issue! What should be taken into account to measure student growth? Who's models are working, and who's aren't?
